it would still behave like it does if I do it with a + or /, and create a new item of the specified type, rather than defaulting to a page. But it's already a lot easier to create content than it was before. Love the change. (edited)Created today

Note: this might run into issues with typing, but i saw another post on the feedback page requesting type sharing. So like when saving a note from someone else's space when you don't have the needed type to save it, it might trigger a dialog to let you pick an existing type to merge into, or just add the shared note's type to your own space.Allow saving

Format as code
command, which is executed with the Ctrl+E shortcut, as a standard input in Markdown? Similar to what Obsidian offers.
In Obsidian, when I need to write text for the Format as code
command, I can simply open the input by typing backtick
during text input, continue writing, and then close it with another backtick
. This makes the text input process naturally smooth. However, in Capacities, I can't apply the Format as code
command directly like "backtick
text as inline codebacktick
". Instead, I have to type "text as inline code", then go back to select the "text as inline code" area, press the Ctrl+E shortcut, and finally return to the point where you want to continue inputting. It's a small UX difference, but I believe it makes a significant difference in the actual text input experience. (edited)Format as code

had some sort of unique UI that indicated visually that it was generated content? There is already a indicator in the dropdown menu that shows it being AI-generated, so the app knows, but we don't unless we click on it. And further, what if that AI-generated block could be converted into an embedded chat in one click? I made a very quick mockup of what it could look like!
I love the Ask AI
command, and I wish I could use it as a way to engage with the native Assistant in a more organic way. Kind of like how Raycast's Quick AI
feature allows you to "continue" the chat in their AI Chat if you want to keep the conversation going. ✨ (edited)Ask AI

that instantly opens a single text box, defaulting to a search bar. From there, you could search your space, or just type +
to trigger the New Object
options (kind of like the ⌘U
shortcut in the app). And to keep things flexible, you could even configure in settings whether new objects open in the floating window or directly in the app. And there would be a button/shortcut to close the floating window anytime and pop that object open directly in the app if you need to dive deeper into it (and vise versa). This would create an insanely fast and streamlined way to capture, search, and create without interrupting your flow. (edited)⌃Space
