Hi @everyone, We're working a lot on making Capacities better every day – smoothing the edges, removing bugs, making processes simpler, and reducing the number of clicks and keystrokes. Nevertheless, it would be great to get a better picture of the following: How do you think Capacities scores in terms of reliability, number of bugs and friction points? (edited)

Hi @everyone 👋 Quick question: how do you all feel about color themes for the UI (different vibe/gray palette, primary color and accent colors). We are thinking about creating a variety of hand-crafted themes to personalize your thinking environment. 🤔 Color and atmosphere can play an important role here. We want to limit the options to a small set, but nevertheless create some themes inspired by the best and most popular color palettes for UIs. It would most likely be a Believer/Pro feature in the beginning, but we would open it up later. 🎨 Please vote on the options below 👇 (edited)

  • Leave the UI colors the way they are. Color theme options are a distraction and prevent people from getting stuff done

Hi @everyone, We're currently working on the "Importing notes from other apps" feature and we'd love to hear your thoughts on the following: If you have notes in folder-based note-taking apps like Obsidian and others, how would you expect folders to be imported to Capacities?
7:31 AM
  • Ignore them. My folders are a mess, or I don't need that structure/information in Capacities.

  • My folder structure is vital. I'll share how I'd expect it to be imported to Capacities in the thread below.

Hi @everyone, Queries just got released but we already have many more ideas for queries. 🚀 Here are some potential directions. We'd love to get some quick feedback what you think would help you in your note-taking. Feel free to share additional thoughts in the thread below. Thanks 🙏
4:05 AM
AI-powered search queries Queries that return content based on their semantic meaning. You can, for example, search for "Notes about Artificial Intelligence" and it will return content on neural networks or LLMs.

Time-based queries Create queries based on a time span. You can, for example, return all objects and blocks that reference this week or a historic time period.

Faceted search queries Show simple options to narrow down search results based on the current results. If results contain a lot of Quotes, allow to quickly filter for Quotes.

Reference and Variable Queries Create queries with filters based on the current context as a variable. For example, on a Project page, embed a query of Meetings with a Project property of that specific project. Variables are based on the parent's properties.

Hi @everyone, We're making a lot of progress with the "Importing from other note-taking apps" feature. 🥳 We're currently testing imports from Obsidian and Notion. To remove as many bugs as possible and to make the experience as smooth as possible, we'd like to extensively test it with more real-world examples before we release it. If you have an Obsidian Vault or a Notion space that does not contain sensitive information and are willing to share it with us, we'd be really grateful for that. To do that, please do the following:
  • Obsidian: Please send us a zip file or your vault
  • Notion: Go to Settings > Workspace > Settings > Export all Content. Then change Format to "Markdown & CSV" and export.
Please send that file or a link to that file to me (DM) or team@capacities.io. We'll treat your data responsibly; it will only be me looking at the content to see if all imports went well. And as a big Plus, we'll make sure that your import will go well for sure. 🙂 Thanks so much for your support. 🙏

Thanks, everyone, for submitting exports. 🤯 We received more than enough Notion exports; we don't need more here. 🙏

Hi @everyone, We're currently drafting the implementation of a calendar integration to Capacities. 📆 We'd love to know which calendars you're interested in synchronizing with Capacities. It's not about the calendar app you're using but the service you're using to host your calendar data. Please vote below! 🙏
