Reloading helps because images you upload to Capacities get a signed URL for privacy reasons which expires after a while. If you reload, new signed URLs are generated again. Calendar integration might be added in milestone 7 (which's main focus is inbox and task management though). There exists a ticket for this on our feedback board: https://capacities.io/feedback/p/google-calendar-integration Feel free to vote on it to increase its priority.
We're currently testing the Desktop app internally and it will be released soon. Mobile is still quite a bit in the future and will not be launched any time soon. Until then you can use our messenger integrations for quick mobile input.
In milestone four we will be launching believer/pro plans to support the project.

Keeping track of my life areas -> dreams -> goals -> projects to connect them via relations and calculate for example how many goals belong to different life areas. Tracking sheet music using dates and determining how long I've been working on a certain piece. Tracking workouts and figuring out the goal weight for a specific exercise that day based on my 1 rep max and my rpe and number of reps. For periodic reviews using rollups and relations to do a lot of counting, percentages, concatenating of various fields.

The page layouts are a layout setting that can be set for any custom content type. So all you have to do is go to the settings of an existing content type, and scroll all the way down. There you can set the page layout you want to use for that type. Hope that helps!

How do you reference another date in a daily note ?
Lets say that i have booked a table on a restaurant next month. So i might write:
" - Have booked a table at [[this lovely restaurant]] on the "insert future date" with # this lovely person" - I can only see date for today, tomorrow, yesterday and day after tomorrow.
Also, do it have any effect on the calendar that i do this ? will it show on the day one month ahead ?

Could you maybe try gmail in Chrome or another browser to make sure it's not Brave? It's hard to maintain all spell checking systems across many browsers, for now we'd recommend to use Grammarly Desktop which should also work in the browser

– think title: 'xyzxyz' // search: xyzxy / xyzxyz etc = success! – BUT title: 'xyzxyz (abc)' // search: xyzxy = success! – and search 'xyzxyz' = failure!
– meaning search xyzxyz wouldn´t find 'xyzxyz (abc)' or 'abc xyzxyz' as titles...
(I also put this up on the Canny-board as it feels 'buggish' )

1♀️ OMG, I need YT tutorials so badly. I joined Capacities last night - I created a new "Quote" object in my account - but today it's gone. The Object no longer exists. And - PDFs are not supported? I uploaded a PDF last night but unable to upload a new one today - I get an error that the format is unsupported. 1 
I’m new to capacities but I subscribed as a Believer yesterday. Has anyone been able to successfully tag a person to an image using the Whatsapp integration? it seems now like that's one of these (many) 'silent' improvements that @Steffen & @Michael_v_H happen to 'weave' / 'sneak' in
it happens a lot to me that I mention stuff, just to update ... and find the improvement there w/o having seen a trace / mention in the release notes or the resp. places where I left a note.
I think it the wizards duos style of being constructive & laborious: just do good things, and do not talk over those.

So I can search through this before going to my bookshelf and grabbing for the special book. Do you have a good idea how to do this at the moment? https://docs.capacities.io/reference/page-layouts#standard makes it sound like I should be able to adjust the width both for entire pages and for individual blocks, but I can't figure out how to do it. Following some earlier posts on on here, I did find a setting in the "edit format" menu for grouped blocks, but nowhere else. Am I missing something? 1 1 1

2) Canny – 'hard core' feature requesting, and trying to marshal support and/or troops for your personal wishes, some forms of rhetorical coercion to convonce Michael & Steffen to prioritize your very personal desires... but also some deliberations on features, relevancies, technical resources related to specific requests etc. oh, and you can vote here! one person one vote (= multiple accounts gives you multiple votes )
3) a reddit-channel instituted by some of the many convinced & goodhearted Capacities 'Believers'. this will be more of satellite discussions (I suppose), comparisons with the field / other apps, exchanges with the general webpublic etc. – https://www.reddit.com/r/capacitiesapp/ (already has a whooping 350+ members, too!)
... oh, and there is 4) direct communication with Steffen & Michael, who are extraordinarily available given they iterate and develop like hell . so, we all hope, they get some support soon, to deal with all the social noise and resonance in the Capacities-community-universe...

I'm new to Capacities and very impressed.
So i try to figure out possible Workflows. I comming from tools like Logseq and Obsidian.
My acutal workflow was inspired by the Zettelkasten method comined with MOCs (mostly software development stuff to sort the atomic zettels according to their topic).
Now i'm struggling a litte bit in Capacities with the diffrent purposes of objects, collections and tags.
E.g. when i'm currently Learning Python, is it usefull to create an Object "Programming Language" and Collection "Python" and then store the notes under it?
Could no find a good entry point for technical | engineering related organisation without overfill the objects (Principles of Software Testing, Principles of Softwareenginnering, Techniques of Softwaretesting, Drivers of Softwareengineering, Refactoring Pattern, OOP Design Patterns, ...)
Perhaps someone has a good entry point for my problem.

But the User Interface (buttons, options, labels, etc.) of the app is only available in English and German.Control + F to search for text on an object. There's Control + P which brings up the search & open dialog but I really just want it to highlight text in the object I'm looking at not restrict me to excerpts from the object where that text appears. by the way, when i marked my list with approx. 50 entries to convert them into a to-do, it was only implemented for a part, not for all at the same time and I had to repeat it several times. it would be nice if this would continue to work in the future or has nobody else observed this?

but if you are interested in any of those two aspects (going beyond working with block / metadata structure logic for all of this), just search for "collating" and / or "stackbar" / "right sidebar" here, and you will find a lot of hinds / thoughts on that (generally the forums are a trove of ideas, and search (here) is definitely your friend, too!) 2 1 hope there will be an option like checkbox for lists somewhere in the future...

my first proposal is checking the existing discussions, by utilizing 'search' here. I think you will find a lot.
my next proposal for you – and everyone else interested – is to build a focussed discussion node; and collect ideas, needs, hacks, infos, wishes.
I think focussing on 'writing' as a complex of functions is the best way to start building the case, for the community, for Steffen & Michael as to development perspectives; and also to collectively asses whether (and which way) this might make sense (for what kind of use scenarios etc...).

2 So it´s not per se obvious, IMO.
My expectation would have been: collections are somehow very virtual in nature, as a) there name somehow suggests; b) all objects are basically 'registered' with the object type, and only in addition 'show up' in collections (so they would seem weaker than something like 'subfolders'); c) every object can be included in several of them simultaneously.
But, what actually happens / can happen (see @Json Blob answer) is interesting – as it seem a very special application of one Capacities 'special moves': which is a differentiation between 'deletion in place' / 'deletion of instance' – and 'global deletion' / 'total deletion'. Plus, this conceptual speciality seems to take on different forms in different contexts – as it normally allows you to also delete objects from an altogether different object type (like an image included (embedded) in another object type...)
– here it plays out in a slightly different way / sublogic, making deletion of a collection a) kind of a two-tier process; and b) very finegrained (as you can select indiviually which contained object(s) should be 'globally deleted' from the overall object type in the course, and which are kept.
In that it´s very 'Capacties' as it plays out very intelligently as well as practical, once you get your head around it.
But, as I said: I think this question actually points to something that is a) not trivial, IMO; and b) undocumented – while it should be explicit, being so basic!
– So, makes me think @Steffen & @Michael_v_H should take up some section(s) on 'deleting' in the doc

@[some-collection] or #[some-tag] and then change the view to Embed and get a really nice embedded view that i can make a table or wall or gallery that I can further filter and sort. but i can't seem to do it for an entire Content Type. just wanted to confirm that that's an actual limitation today 2♂️

Lots of loose ends around it. Some general discussions – and as @Desiderata pointed out, me along with some others are trying to make the case for further strategical development, w/ some bigger priority.
On that general front there are some mixed messages: at some point a "graph view 2.0" was presented as official prospect, as was the general idea to develop the graph into some whiteboardy direction
... then, on the other end of the signal spectrum, Michael and Stephen answered some proposals similar to yours as 'yeah, but rather long term'. plus, it´s a fact that the graph is not on the roadmap, nor really featured in any sense recently on the official side / site.
Having said that about general discussion, there is a feature request for your first prop: https://capacities.io/feedback/p/graph-view-for-whole-space. So you can vote for it (plus, you can take this as hint that there is always some sense in doing a deep search, here as well as on that Canny board, in case of feeling any demands here 
).
– Then again, the image you can get on the prospects here is mixed: while on the Canny board, Steffen kind of reacted (cautiously) positive to the idea of a global graph, the specific requests for object and collection graphs have been ruled out by Michael on reasons of size and unwieldliness. The upside of doing it this way, is that I can easily link the person or meeting the task relates to, which instantly reminds me the context of the task. Plus, I can easily see anything I have pending with a colleague simply by opening that person’s page (I have a “people” object). This is where the full potential of networked notes kicks in, and that is just pure Capacities magic

for one, my experience here is that 'backup' and (re-)import doesn't work as for this, really – at least not in case of media-rich content... and not even in terms of preserving most structure (i.e. lifetime / investedwork), I am afraid
then, what makes this more of a painand a real darth IMO is that while copy-and-paste (in some cases) works very good from web content into CAP(!), there seems literally no way to c&p content from locally available contemt into Capacities in some sensemaking way (– again, especially talking about media-rich content)

for one, my experience here is that 'backup' and (re-)import doesn't work as for this, really – at least not in case of media-rich content... and not even in terms of preserving most structure (i.e. lifetime / investedwork), I am afraid
then, what makes this more of a painand a real darth IMO is that while copy-and-paste (in some cases) works very good from web content into CAP(!), there seems literally no way to c&p content from locally available contemt into Capacities in some sensemaking way (– again, especially talking about media-rich content)

all in all, the fact that CAP is not transparent / transducive / interoperable with itself /relating to its own content across spaces _really seems like one of the biggest underattended weak points...

How can I see an overview of not only what I created on this day but also on this week, month, and year? I’ve tried tagging it with the tag name 2023, 2023-11, 2023-10, etc. but find it too bothersome to do it daily and on every objects I made, not to mentioned those tags would become inactive once the time past, and I’m trying to make my workflow as frictionlessly as possible. 1) "other than having been created on the same day" – given the object logic of CAP and given the nature of the journal as centering on 'same day' = related, the (better: one possible) answer lies in the very formulation of yours: 'created on the same day' can be considered a strong / relevant relational point
(– in general I regard the logic of provision of 'related tags', including not only global but also inline tags, one of the genius detail moves of CAP, & it´s worth to be said...)

– to me it seems that while for collections it is easy to create a new collection and include a selection set on the go, this is impossible for tags. it seems, for tags the only bulk action is remove / assign from the virtual set of existing tags for that given selection...?!

… with externalizing blocks, is just as you say: it depends on circumstance (length, style of work etc.). for me, it often does make sense… but you will surely find your way playing around with this…

I’m not sure if you’re in Europe, but I hope Capacities supports CDNs or will support them because maybe that’s why all the data retrieval and server querying latency performance is killing me. Are AWS Aurora, replicas, or something similar for DBs used? I hope not everything is going to Europe because that’s just about the other side of the world from here in Cali. I think this is just one of the cases where being easily overwhelmed by clutter gets to me. And there are few cases where I need to reference fictional things in a real-world context. So I have one real-world journal / knowledge base for work and personal stuff that's organized using collections and queries, and then I separate out the fictional worlds into their own areas. I have a question I can't seem to figure out an answer for. I have a standard page object and it has a table in it. The table is wider than the page width so it's scrolling. there were some discussions already, for these scenarios and reasons (and some other similar ones), to contemplate more structured community channels for exchanging such structures of use (templates, objects, space architectures etc.).
– up to now these ideas never materialized. also, things are difficult in terms of making such a channel work reasonably. either this needs to be some extra channel here, and is up to admins and their criteria. or, alternatively you start a thread, but that will get buried & lost easily and vanish from attention bec of the way Discord works.
two possible roads I can see you take, if you want to go the self-initiated way:
1 – make the case to use the showcases channel for community features of their object types; maybe initiate it with sketching your use-case there… ?! ✨
2 – make a dedicated self-initiated channel on the Canny board (I once tried that for negotiating embeddable platforms – … but I think I can say it never got community traction – see: https://capacities.io/feedback/p/community-driven-list-for-whitelisted-embeddable-sites-platforms-ideas-proposals
alternatively, you could also make the case for such a channel here, and approach the team, and make the case. either by adressing them directly ( @Steffen & @Michael_v_H would be the right people, afaik); or shoot them an email: team@capactities.io.
whatever road you might take: you can be sure there are some people in the community interested in extending structured community exchange around such practical issues (formats, templates, etc). but you also have to know that it might take some extra effort to install such additional channels, as this kind of structure / culture is just evolving cautiously around Capacities…

Also, the "Confirm" button always has its active state although the field is empty, and when entering a URL manually, pressing on "Confirm" does not do anything. as to my knowledge, the inbuilt behavior is that Capacities observes the history of use, i.e. defaults to the last space used.
there are two roads ahead, I can see, assuming this is the situation:
1) ask for an option in the settings to always open Cap on (re-)start with the first / a certain space (– I think such an option would make sense

as to my knowledge, the inbuilt behavior is that Capacities observes the history of use, i.e. defaults to the last space used.
there are two roads ahead, I can see, assuming this is the situation:
1) ask for an option in the settings to always open Cap on (re-)start with the first / a certain space (– I think such an option would make sense

I mentioned this several times here. it's of course not easy, as there are some functions 'loaded' into all of this.
but I do think, current UI in this part of Cap (object & format editor) is ... not ideal. ️
again, this is something that one needs to 'make count' via Canny, and flag / ramp up in importance towards the team, I think... every idea & impulse welcome.

Hello, I asked Capacities to export my workspace so I can see how the files are and when I receive the download via email, I click the link and all it does it open a new window that is all white but never actually triggers a download. But that's not to say we can't improve tag queries. We're already thinking about adding an AND operator for tag queries and we're considering adding NOT + simple block filters as well.
But as always, we don't want to add complexity unnecessarily and for transparency, it wouldn't be a high priority. But if any of this sounds like it could really improve your workflow, could you please submit a feature request with some examples, and we'll monitor it? actually, I think my way of putting it might even be a pipeline that would fit your 'retrofit' requirement; as any existing 'fixed set' would conceptually become a tag collection automatically… – so, I think it´s always good to extend the conversation, because of such nuances & possible insights…
