Hey all.
First, I'd like to share how happy I am to have found not only a different concept of note-taking, but also an app that handles this concept in a fantastic way. Thanks to the CAP team!
At first I was a little bit scared if this concept would be the right one for me (coming from Craft and struggling with its structure like with all of the "old-style" note-taking apps I've tried), but now I'm confident I won't feel the desire to go back.
Concerning tagging. I thought about how I'd like to use them to have a lean framework, and this is how I've set it up.
I've got only two tag collections, one containing the broad topics I have to deal or work with in my daily life or that simply are of interest to me, and the other one having process-related buckets:
Collection 1: Topics like Family, House, Financials, Medical / Health, Job. Also Music, Literature, Travel, Knowledge etc. These actually mirror my previous high level folders in Craft.
Collection 2: Process states - Anytime, Soon, Next, Current, Ongoing, Frequently, Archive and Reference.
For every (new) object, the topic tag is pretty obvious. Then I ask myself: What do I have to or like to do with it, and possibly when? It's pretty much always instantly clear which process tag is suitable.
This way I can scan all my content both in a topical mindframe as well as decide which process state I want to see. Right now this is granular enough to suit my needs. As I understand, the upcoming smart queries will allow narrowing down certain results, which is great.
Of course this is only one of many approaches and may not be suitable for everyone. I'm curious what others might think of it or how they set up their own system, though.
