Today we're releasing our second major update of the year, and it's a big one. Along with the much-anticipated Challenger 350 business jet come UI updates, Missions, and much more.

Challenger 350

The business jet pilot community will receive a fleet upgrade today with the Challenger 350! As with all of our modern aircraft, the CL35 comes complete with fully animated cockpit, suspension, and control surfaces. With 20 brand new liveries and a huge number of airports to choose from around the world, pilots can explore endlessly using this new aircraft.

The Challenger 350 also comes with 20 exciting liveries including a new Infinite Flight paint scheme, and the community design winner, HB-CRW!

Missions

In May of 2023, we announced a new Missions feature, which we're launching today. Missions will give Infinite Flight pilots new ways to discover flights and help us curate new experiences and drive traffic to certain areas. This is an excerpt from our May article:

Version 1 of Missions will allow you to discover new routes and regions of the world you've never considered before! You'll never run out of flight ideas again with our Missions algorithm doing the work for you. This first iteration also allows our team to curate route and aircraft combinations for events, making it easier than ever to be where the action is.

We plan to continue our work on the Missions feature to include more ways for you to explore and engage in the simulator. To read more on this feature and our new UI improvements, check out the blog article.

Flight School

A long-time goal for Infinite Flight has been to introduce a way to help pilots become better pilots! Our new in-house scenario system allows us to create training scenarios for you to take your flying to the next level. Bundled with 23.2 will be a Getting Started tutorial for new users. We'll be working hard to add more tutorials in the coming releases and beyond as we build a library of resources.

UI Changes

For 23.2 we've created a new visual experience for our main menu screens. Our new boarding pass-style information boxes are bringing an organized look and feel to the simulator. This also ties the Missions, Flight School, and new logbook with replays together in a cohesive way.

Even the way you start our flight is different in 23.2! A redesigned menu will take a little getting used to for long-time users, but we're confident you'll grow to love these new workflows! Selecting your starting airport and aircraft in free flight mode is now done easily from one screen. For a more detailed description and explanation of these changes, please refer to our previous blog article.  

Quality of life improvements

With every update, we try to iterate on existing features or add new ones that improve your quality of life while using the app. Since most flights start with a jetbridge attached from the previous flight, we've decided to auto-connect the jetbridge when applicable when you start your session (provided engine auto-start isn't enabled). In addition, our framerate limiter now only applies while in flight. Our main menu is now always rendered at 60fps for a smoother experience. Last but not least, we've improved support for using Infinite Flight with popular EFB apps, such as Garmin Pilot and Skydemon.

Known Issues

There is a known issue that we will address in a subsequent release or hotfix.

• Unable to zoom upon first use of locked camera. Workaround is to switch to another camera and back again.
