This is the first in a series of guides for our recently released app\u00a0inRoute. While later guides will cover more specific use cases and advanced features, this guide is a general overview of inRoute&#8217;s interface and operation. After accepting, the current location becomes the starting place in your first route. The first time the chart is shown the list of all available charts will appear, demonstrating that the chart title is also the button that allows changing the chart type.<br \/><br \/>\nThe map region and the chart region are linked. Zoom or pan in one and the other updates, and vice versa. The option to \u201cAdd Bookmark for Route\u201d will save the current route parameters to the Bookmarks button at the top of the map, and \u201cShare\u201d allows sharing the route to social media or transferring to other apps and in-car GPS compatible with GPX files. <br \/><br \/>\nSelecting any step or location of the route will bring you into an \u201cOverview mode.\u201d<br \/><br \/>\n\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<a href='https:\/\/inroute.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/7_OverviewMode.jpg'><img width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/inroute.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/7_OverviewMode.jpg\" class=\"attachment-large size-large\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" aria-describedby=\"gallery-1-1715\" srcset=\"https:\/\/inroute.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/7_OverviewMode.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/inroute.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/7_OverviewMode-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/inroute.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/7_OverviewMode-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<figcaption class='wp-caption-text gallery-caption' id='gallery-1-1715'>\n\t\t\t\tOverview mode lets you visually see and step through the turn-by-turn directions. Swipe the text directions left or right to step through the directions in order. The List button at the bottom of the map remains available to allow jumping to a specific step. In this mode, you can \u201cShare Step\u201d, for those times when you want to share or transfer an interesting step of a route but not the entire route.<br \/><br \/>\n\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<a href='https:\/\/inroute.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/8_MapInfo.jpg'><img width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/inroute.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/8_MapInfo.jpg\" class=\"attachment-large size-large\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" aria-describedby=\"gallery-1-1716\" srcset=\"https:\/\/inroute.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/8_MapInfo.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/inroute.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/8_MapInfo-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/inroute.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/8_MapInfo-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<figcaption class='wp-caption-text gallery-caption' id='gallery-1-1716'>\n\t\t\t\tThe Info button at the bottom of the Map allows you to change the map type, print to Airprint-compatible printers, and remove all pins from the map that aren\u2019t currently in a route.
